1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the SecureVault service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting.

2. Description of Service

SecureVault provides a secure, one-time secret sharing platform that allows users to create encrypted secrets that can be shared via unique links. Secrets are automatically destroyed after being viewed or after a specified expiration period.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Store or transmit illegal content or materials
  • Share malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Engage in phishing, fraud, or deceptive practices
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Store highly sensitive data such as credit card numbers without proper authorization
  • Attempt to bypass security measures or exploit vulnerabilities
  • Abuse the Service through excessive automated requests
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

4. Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

5. Data and Security

  • Secrets are encrypted using industry-standard AES-256-GCM encryption
  • We cannot access or recover the content of your secrets
  • Secrets are permanently deleted after all views are consumed or upon expiration
  • You are responsible for the content you share through the Service
  • We recommend not using this Service as the sole storage for critical data

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by SecureVault and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SECUREVAULT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the past 12 months.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SecureVault and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which SecureVault operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to submit to binding arbitration.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
